Professional Life in the Financial Services Industry
 Fred Burgess has more than 29 years of experience in the financial services industry. He has built his business and reputation on professional competence and trust, and continues to work with many of the same individuals whom he has served since the 1980s.
Prior to starting Regent Financial Services in 2003, Fred worked for 11 years as an Investment Management Consultant with Bangor Securities in Portland, Maine. Previously he worked at the Portland, Maine office of Merrill Lynch where, as a business financial consultant, he had advisory responsibilities for more than US$300 million in institutional and private accounts. In addition, he was responsible for the development and management of ERISA plans and fixed income investment accounts for institutional clients, as well as executive compensation consulting and estate planning. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA).
Fred is an alumnus of the University of Maine, having studied business administration and economics. He received his CFM (Certified Financial Manager) in 1988 from the Donald T. Regan School of Finance at Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith. In 2005 he was awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary™ designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies - Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at University of Pittsburgh. He is currently a candidate for Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) at the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania.
